A frequency below human hearing's ability to hear) and how ghosts supposedly communicate at this frequency range. Why, then, are we speaking to them at our Hertz level which is 800-1200 Hertz compared to their supposed 19 Hertz. If we're having trouble hearing them, imagine what they must go through? Hmm... Well, if we're going to believe ghosts speak at the level, then why aren't we converting our voices to a level they can hear? For that matter, why aren't we carrying meters to detect if that frequency is present? Yes, infrasound meters exist, like the Rion NA-18, but at a cost of 5K to 7K. Ouch!
In studying infrasound I was learned a lot. Volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and even atomic bombs can create this frequency. Some animals use it, such as elephants, to communicate long distances because it creates great oscillations and can travel great distances easily. If you've ever felt a bass speaker from a car going by, you might have felt those vibrations through your chest. It can affect human bodies and even objects. Depending on the pitch, infrasound can cause anger and fear. It was said to be used by Hitler to incite crowds to a fevered pitch. It can cause depression, pressure in the ears, and many sensations felt in haunted locations.
What's more, investigators of Bigfoot believe that they might communicate in this way and I think that's a very realistic possibility. Why? If you are part of a group of creatures that are not all that common and live in giant forests, how in the world will you tell others you are available for mating over a long distance? Infrasound. It might be also feasible to believe that infrasound is the byproduct of alien spacecraft, causing us to feel strange upon seeing them as the frequencies resonate through our bodies.
What is the future for this knowledge in the field of ghost hunting? Lots. If we can measure such infrasound conditions in a location that is haunted, then we can begin to ask ourselves-what is causing this frequency. Could this be the tie in to geomagnetic storms mixed with geology and building construction and waterways (the very things in my haunted formula?) Could this be either facilitating and energizing a haunting or giving it a pathway to express itself or perhaps causing the sensations and mind tricks that make us think there is a haunting. Some experiments in infrasound would be in order to see just what it does to the human body in say a not-haunted location versus a haunted location. Ah, if only I had a university funding me!
p.s. A fascinating paper on the subject of infrasound and paranormal research applications as well as natural science.

The following is a list of ghost hunting definitions and tools you should use on a ghost hunt. It is important that you familiarize yourself with these terms as they are used quite frequently during a paranormal investigation. And as for the tools you don't need to rush out and buy this gear. A basic camera, video camera is the minimum otherwise there is no point in going on a ghost hunt if you can't show others what you may have captured
Amulets - Amulet Jewelry
Some ghost hunters wear jewelry called amulets because they believe the amulet jewelry provides protection; because it is enchanted and charmed with powerful spells - which some believe make it an effective weapon against harmful spirits - ghosts. An example of a common amulet might be a crucifix - a cross. I believe jewelry is only powerful to the mind that believes in it. An amulet is the same as a charm or talisman jewelry.
Anomaly
Something found on a picture, photograph, video or voice recording that has no explainable source.
Apparition
These are the holy grail of ghost hunting. A spirit that is in human form and usually visible to the naked eye; or may appear in a photo undetected originally by the naked eye. Often this anomaly is dressed in period clothing. Very hard to capture on film but many have reported seeing this type of ghost. This is the "Hollywood Type" ghost featured in many movies.
Cameras
Cameras are an invaluable tool and a must for investigating a haunting. They provide visual documentation of the investigation and the phenomena occurring. Since, cameras are neither for or against the paranormal, they allow what we do not see with our closed minds to be photographed. Digital cameras provide more results and are best for ghost hunting because they can show you what's in your picture right after you took the photo.
Digital photos are available to upload to your computer immediately after the ghost hunt, while the events are still fresh in your mind.
Psychic photography is simply just following what you feel or sense, and taking pictures using intention and intuition. When attempting psychic photography you should load the film into the camera on arrival of the investigation site. Many say this will show the intention you have and draw spirits to you to photograph. When taking pictures it is also wise to notify others in the area you are taking a photo, so they are prepared for the flash. Psychic photography is usually best achieved during the hours between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.; but the best time for you will be when you have the feeling something is near you or watching you - you should go with that instinct.
While photographing at the investigation site, you should try to avoid mirrors, glass, lights, poles or any other obstruction that will interfere with evaluation or determination of the photograph and it's elements; otherwise you may want to note the possibility of a false result with those photos taken. Also, make sure your camera strap is removed and fingers are not in front of the lens, as they can appear as convincing paranormal evidence. It is good to catalog your photos with the corresponding negative for archival storage. If using a digital camera, simply save the ghost photos and corresponding notes to a cd disk.
Dowsing Rods
Traditionally, a forked branch or stick that is believed to indicate subterranean water or minerals by bending downward when held over a source. Divining rod, a rod, commonly of witch hazel, with forked branches, used by those who discover water or metals under ground.
Dowsing or divining rods can also be made of metal, and bent in an "L" shape - one for each hand. In ghost hunting, when the rods cross while being held out in front of the "dowser" they indicate spirit presence at the spot the dowser is at.
What is ectoplasm? It is the name given to a form of dense energy liberated by living things which is believed to make possible the materialization of ghosts. In short, it appears in photographs like a fog or mist, and is spirit. We prefer to see orb vapor trails (such as in the above ghost picture), to determine conclusively that it is indeed ectoplasm. Vapor trail cannot be re-created through fog, breath or smoke. Many ectoplasm pictures are created by mistake, when the ghost hunter has not been careful. Moisture, fog, cigarette smoke and human breath in cold weather can produce some believable ectoplasm ghost pictures. Be sure to hold your breath before taking ghost pictures, and do not smoke during your investigations for positive results.
EMF Meters
The Electromagnetic Field Detector, also known as an EMF meter, is the ghost hunters tracking device. Using this instrument, it is possible to locate and track energy sources. Before using the EMF meter as a ghost hunting tool on an investigation, be sure to walk around the area taking readings around energy sources such as light poles and electrical outlets to be sure of the readings you will receive while scanning the area during the investigation. Some EMF meters come with a manual describing common household appliances and their corresponding electromagnetic reading. When using this device be sure not to leave it on for the full length of the ghost investigation, as this will prevent the instrument from burning out.
When a positive EMF meter reading occurs, take as many photos as possible. Be sure and point the camera in the same direction as you are pointing the EMF meter. This is also a good time to take a temperature reading. Be sure to always report the times of positive EMF readings, temperature drops, and the times and numbers of each photo. This provides collaborating evidence of the paranormal occurrence. At the end of your ghost hunt, you may find that positive EMF and temperature readings occurred at the exact time you took the photograph which shows an anomaly.
Energy Lights
These show up on photos as colored lights during some manifestations of hauntings. They usually are not visible to the naked eye and can appear in different colors such as red, orange or green.
EVP
Electronic Voice Phenomenon is the recording of audio tapes at a suspected haunted site; and although no voices were heard at the time of the recording, unexplained voices may be discovered during playback of the audio tape. Both digital recorder and traditional tape recorders may be used with an external microphone.
Kinetic Energy
Description for the movement of objects by a ghost. A physical manifestation of an unseen force which may move, throw or even destroy objects. These ghosts are known as "Poltergeists" (German for "noisy ghost").
Orbs
Not all orb ghost pictures are ghosts. In fact, most orbs are caused by moisture, dust, flash reflection, solar flare, and insect. Many have videotaped orbs flying around rooms - some are dust with light reflecting off of it; others are balls of energy that many ghost hunters are not sure just what they represent. We do not claim to have the answers, but we seek to present the evidence we receive and allow our viewers to research and decide on their own.
It is hard to determine exactly the source of an orb for sure. But one test is pretty cool. Take a picture while stirring up some dust and watch how many "orbs" appear in the picture. This is a good test to learn about orbs caused by dust.
Motion Sensors and Detectors
Motion sensors and detectors are another investigation tool that many ghost hunters use. Simply put, motion sensors or motion detectors are used to let the ghost investigator know if something is moving in another room, while the investigator is elsewhere. Motion sensors work well when left in a room during the time when no investigator is present. Motion sensors have alarms that sound when movement is detected in the room in which they are placed. Typically, they will sound in rooms where no previous activity had been reported; and upon further investigation, one may find much evidence of paranormal activity in the room where the motion detector or sensor sounded its alarm. The motion sensors used by ghost hunters project an infrared beam. When the beam is disrupted by movement of any kind (natural or spirit!), an alarm will sound that the investigator can hear while in another room: a clue that spirits may be present in that area where the motion detector resides. Usually motion sensors have an alarm mode and chime mode. The chime mode will only announce the visitor or movement, but will not blare as a siren for a long time. Most ghost hunters prefer the chime mode setting on their motion detector, as it is less offensive and won't scare the dickens out of you!
Plasma/Plasmoid
Moving orbs caught during the time of camera exposure. Orbs have also been filmed moving, on video. In photos, they appear as streaking light or as an orb with a tail showing the path of motion. These are also known as "supercharged orbs" in motion.
Poltergeist Hauntings
Poltergeists or poltergeist hauntings may be the most misunderstood type of haunting, as some believe that poltergeist hauntings are not even a haunting at all. The German word, "poltergeist," means "noisy ghost." The best defining mark of a poltergeist is if there is any manipulation of the physical environment such as the movement of objects, physical attack, spontaneous combustions, etc, then this is a poltergeist-type of haunting.
A common thread between different poltergeist hauntings has strongly indicated that they are caused by psychokinesis (the ability to move things by power of the mind alone). The question becomes whether the psychokinesis is from the people who live within (or visit) the place where the activity takes place, or if it is actually occurring from an unseen troubled spirit, called a ghost. The reason for this is because typically poltergeist hauntings center around an adolescent girl (although young males and even adults have exhibited the same phenomena) in the household. Typically, this central person is usually emotionally disturbed in some fashion, and is somehow the root cause of objects moving, knocking sounds (and other noises), the turning on and off of lights and electrical appliances, etc. What is interesting is that the person whom the activity centers around, is unaware that they are the one who is bringing about the disturbance. But in true poltergeist hauntings, none of the activity will continue after the person is removed from the environment, as they are not there to create it or influence an unseen entity. However, it has been reported that activity can return later if the "right" person visits or lives in a notably poltergeist-haunted place. This would lend one to believe that it requires a combined psychic energy to manifest such terrible hauntings.
Author Brad Steiger contends that the central figure in a poltergeist haunting actually brings additional energy which the troubled ghost then uses to manifest with physical attacks or manipulation. This can be especially true if one is somewhat psychic and/or full of fear. The ghostly entity seems to feed off of low energies such as fear. This is when more harmful attacks can occur. Sometimes the effects of a poltergeist are more playful than harmful, but have been known to be downright nasty. Reports of scratches, bites, harmful objects being put in one's way (such as glass shards on a pillow or tacks under a bed sheet) have been noted, as well as ghost possession. Perhaps Brad Steiger's best phrase is, "Ghosts haunt houses; poltergeists haunt people." Perhaps many times, the troubled spirit wants only to communicate a message to those who still are in bodies.
Residual Haunting
When a spirit is seen doing the same thing over and over, many believe this to be simply an energy imprint or residual haunting. In other words, a strong, traumatic event that occurred in some other time, repeating itself over and over. Usually these spirits do not interact with those who see them. My opinion, is that this could simply be a state of mind I call "hell;" being trapped by one's own mind in darkness or lack of understanding. Sort of reliving of an event perhaps through fear, guilt or condemnation until that spirit finds truth and freedom.
Think of a residual haunting as a movie being re-run on TV day after day. It is believed by ghost hunters that some events, due to perhaps strong emotional energy attached to it, imprint themselves somehow on the environment where the event took place. Sort of "trapped in time," the event is recorded in the atmosphere of a place. If one were to see a ghost doing the same activity over and over, and with no response to the present environment, it is most likely a residual haunting. Residual hauntings are past events playing in the present, but with no interaction with today. It is a common ghost hunters theory that most residual hauntings occur in places built over top of limestone, quartz stone and/or water. These seem to act as a transmitter, perhaps creating the perfect environment to allow the residual haunting energy to manifest.
How can residual hauntings occur? Energy is spirit and spirit is life. All of us are spirit, with or without the physical body, and we live and exist within spirit. Spirit is the life-force of all, whether plant, animal or human being, and is everywhere. Everything that is, exists within spirit. Spirit or energy is everywhere. Thus, is it possible for an event or person to imprint its energy upon a place? Most ghost hunters believe so...
Dark Shadows/Shadow People
Dark shadows in ghost pictures usually appear as a black smudge or fog over an image. Some certainly could be caused by a finger or something else over the camera lens, but many are not. There have been many interesting observations of shadow ghosts (dark shadows or shadow people). They are usually seen out of the corner of one's eye, hence this is why some call them shadow people - they often observe others. Also, dark shadows have actually been recorded playing with one another. This has led some ghost investigators to believe they can be children, as well as adults. Some have seen shadow ghosts 6 feet tall with broad shoulders, for example. Shadow ghosts can see and react with people. We have theorized that perhaps their darkness may be just an indicator of their lack of progression into the light and unto their life review...call it "in darkness," or "lack of understanding of truth" - unaware of where they are, having unfinished business, or afraid to move on.
Thermometer / Thermal Scanner
Thermometers are an instrument that are also very useful. There are two types used regularly: digital thermometers and infrared non-contact thermometers. When used on an investigation this will aid as a detection system for spirit presence. Rapid temperature drops of 10 degrees or more could indicate spirit activity. I recommend using the infrared non-contact thermometers because they react in less than a second to temperature drops and can scan a large area quickly.
As mentioned, good thermometer can detect changes in room temperature quickly. But some still use the old-fashioned mercury-filled, red-line, thermometers. Electronic thermometers should be used, but in high paranormal, haunting activity where electromagnetic forces have been reported they may fail right when you need them. So bring an old mercury thermometer with you as back up, and you should be o.k. during your ghost investigation.
Vortex
A long streak across a photo that may be caused by a very high-speeding "orb;" some believe vortices are a gateway between both realms (physical and spirit realms). They are usually white in color and may appear as a funnel-shape. Camera straps, human hair, a tree branch, etc., right in front of the camera lens during exposure have been notoriously mistaken for a vortex. It is important to make sure anything that may interfere with your photo is removed from within the front of the camera.

When Neil and Louise Bronner sank more than 55,000 into a two-bedroom property in the British town of Stoke-on-Trent, they knew the house had a unique connection to history: It was the boyhood home of Edward John Smith, the Titanic's captain who died with roughly 1,500 others when the ship struck an iceberg in 1912.
The couple rented the property for a decade and now they want to ship out. The Bonners are hoping to get the equivalent of 126,000 for it, but have the problem of scaring up a buyer who isn't spooked by the fact that Smith's spirit still haunts the place.
"We've heard of things going bump in the night from other tenants," Neill Bonner told the Daily Mail. "Some have said they felt a really cold chill passing over them -- as cold as an iceberg."
The house has suffered other coincidences similar to the disaster, albeit on a smaller scale, the owners said. About five years ago, a young couple flooded the kitchen.
"[The couple] stacked all the dishes in the sink after a party and they went away for the weekend but left the taps on," Bonner told the Daily Mail. "We had a phone call from them on the Monday morning sheepishly saying 'we've flooded the kitchen.' I definitely had that sinking feeling when they started to explain, but at least it is all water-tight now."
Louise Bonner, 60, says the 100th anniversary this week of the tragic voyage has increased awareness of the house. But they haven't been flooded with offers.
"Since it went on the market it's already triggered some interest," she told the Express and Star. "One of those has included someone on the phone from a Titanic museum in Germany."
Smith is believed to have lived in the house with his parents for more than 10 years before heading off to sea when he was 13.
By age 25, he was qualified to captain a ship and had a successful naval career before making the Titanic voyage at the age of 62.
"It's hard to understand what motivated him to go to sea," Louise Bonner told the website This Is Staffordshire. "He came from a typical working class potteries family and he went on to achieve so much.
"His name is known across the world and the interest in the Titanic is never ending," she went on. "Many people ask whether Captain Smith was to blame for the disaster, but a lot of things conspired against that ship. He wasn't at the helm at the time and the ship had been badly designed without the proper buoyancy because they wanted to make more space for first class passengers."

On a headland near Plymouth lived "Aunt Rachel," a reputed seer, who made a scant livelihood by forecasting the future for such seagoing people as had crossed her palm. The crew of a certain brig came to see her on the day before sailing, and she reproached one of the lads for keeping bad company. "Avast, there, granny," interrupted another, who took the chiding to himself. "None of your slack, or I'll put a stopper on your gab." The old woman sprang erect. Levelling her skinny finger at the man, she screamed, "Moon cursers! You have set false beacons and wrecked ships for plunder. It was your fathers and mothers who decoyed a brig to these sands and left me childless and a widow. He who rides the pale horse be your guide, and you be of the number who follow him!"
That night old Rachel's house was burned, and she barely escaped with her life, but when it was time for the brig to sail she took her place among the townfolk who were to see it off. The owner of the brig tried to console her for the loss of the house. "I need it no longer," she answered, "for the narrow house will soon be mine, and you wretches cannot burn that. But you! Who will console you for the loss of your brig?"
"My brig is stanch. She has already passed the worst shoal in the bay."
"But she carries a curse. She cannot swim long."
As each successive rock and bar was passed the old woman leaned forward, her hand shaking, her gray locks flying, her eyes starting, her lips mumbling maledictions, "like an evil spirit, chiding forth the storms as ministers of vengeance." T
he last shoal was passed, the merchant sighed with relief at seeing the vessel now safely on her course, when the woman uttered a harsh cry, and raised her hand as if to command silence until something happened that she evidently expected. For this the onlookers had not long to wait: the brig halted and trembled-her sails shook in the wind, her crew were seen trying to free the cutter-then she careened and sank until only her mast-heads stood out of the water.
Most of the company ran for boats and lines, and few saw Rachel pitch forward on the earth-dead, with a fierce smile of exultation on her face. The rescuers came back with all the crew, save one-the man who had challenged the old woman and revengefully burned her cabin. Rachel's body was buried where her house had stood, and the rock-before unknown-where the brig had broken long bore the name of Rachel's Curse.

Even though (according to my theory) geomagnetic activity has been almost completely flat-lined since the latter half of 2008 and therefore ghost hunting is not a profitable venture of late, the TAPS team will always be known for changing America's view of ghost hunting.
Prior to Ghost Hunters or BGH ("before Ghost Hunters"), ghost hunting was something people giggled about as frivolous and born of the spiritualists movement involving hoaxes such as ectoplasm, Ouija boards, and (dare we say) s'eances. People who believed in ghosts were in with the ranks of UFO witnesses and Bigfoot peepers; all of them taken as overzealous nerd fantasies.
But, after Ghost Hunters (AGH), Americans who had believed in ghosts and would not readily admit such a predisposition, were now turning to their friends and admitting their "affliction." I had been hunting a few years before the show came to be, but when I heard a show about ghost hunters was going to be on national TV, I thought "times are changing! I might finally come out of the closet."
AGH, a large amount of Americans not only admitted to believing, but having experienced the paranormal, and a huge mass of them were rushing out to hunt on their own. Search of the paranormal became accessible to every Joe and Jane. You didn't need a psychic (thank you Ghost Hunters for proving that. Even thought I'm psychic, I would never use my readings as proof). You didn't need fancy equipment even, just a digital camera, maybe a thermometer, and if you're lucky an audio recording device. AGH, it was quite a different world for paranormal believers.
Anyone who knows me well knows that I'm a very logic-minded and a fairly orderly person (Virgo), but I'm also very giggly, silly, and child-like.
BGH: When I told people I ghost hunt, they thought it was some kind of joke or need to be eccentric and goofy, but they never asked and never knew that I packed "heat" (EMF meters, thermometers, cameras, voice recorders, etc). I was serious about it. I had enough of experiencing the paranormal and not being able to prove it. I feared sharing my hobby because people who took me seriously would now look at me as if I'd just become a Scientologist and had a belief system set in the stars. Others who were devoutly religious would say I'm calling in the Devil.
AGH: When I told people proudly that I hunt ghosts, they were intrigued. They wanted to know all the details, try the equipment, ask questions, share paranormal experiences that they never would have told anyone about BGH. I was able to bring people in and help them learn about the business and advise them. Birthing newly inquisitive people is a great honor. Sending them out into the world to find their own paranormal puzzles is very gratifying. I'm not protective of ghost hunting like some hunters. I want more of us out there; more eyes watching things, more minds wondering how to make it better, to improve the industry.
This brings us to the final aspect of this PGH (post Ghost Hunters). That is, when the show is off and gone and all its little clones have deceased... Where will the ghost hunting world be? No doubt, at a standstill. BGH, they were still using psychics and Ouija boards, but PGH, we'll unfortunately still be cornering the market in electrician's devices with the hopes they can detect ghosts (which is kind of like saying I hope my rectal thermometer can measure the exhaust coming out of my car's tail pipe).
We still have a long way to go in the paranormal research world. As much as GH was unbelievably important in teaching us debunking and being skeptical, they also carried with them old-world views of what ghosts and hauntings are. They had their "belief" system already in place. They became inbred and unable to grow in their research because they knew what ghosts were and how they present themselves and that they suck energy from your batteries and they make the EMF meter spike and yada yada yada. As open-minded as they were about a haunting possibly being explainable events and debunking a great deal of evidence, they also weren't open-minded enough about just what a haunting is. So long as they defined what a ghost was and the different varieties, i.e. residual, intelligent, noncorporeal, etc, they never went to the next level. All their explanations were tailor fit for their belief system.
What is the next level for ghost hunting PGH? It's going to take scientists and electrical engineers, geologists and psychologists and other professionals who hid during the BGH days to come forward and start some research with open minds. Sort of reverse engineering hauntings by looking at the evidence and backtracking for how it could have been set into motion. It will take very broad-minds in the field. There can be no more "religion of ghost hunting" allowed. So long as people think they know what is causing phenomenon and have already graded, tiered, and labeled it without any way of verifying these notions, they've just entered into the murky waters of a belief system(i.e. "Paranormal State").
BGH, when people asked me what a ghost was, I'd shrug and say "heck if I know.
AGH, when people asked me what a ghost was, I'd shrug and say "Heck if I know."
I'm hoping some day PGH, I'll be able to give a more definitive answer, but that will only come with much testing of every aspect from the psychological and psychic to the spiritual to quantum physics and forward-thinking options.
Ultimately, GH should go down in history as making ghosts not a chains and moans kind of castle-dwelling figure, but something that we all encounter at one point or another in one place or another and wonder, "what the heck was that?" and then weren't afraid to seek answers, whether they were a squeaky door or something unexplainable.

Ghost photos are invariably in dispute. Today in the UK newspapers, for example, has been the report on the Wem Ghost picture. This has now been proven to be a girl superimposed from an old 1922 postcard. For 15 years people thought the photo genuine.
This reminded me of the Brown Lady Ghost of Raynham Hall (photo below) which, as far as I know, has never been shown to be a fake. Some call it the most famous ghost photo in England. There is a history to go along with the photo.
The story is that the Brown Lady is the ghost of Lady Townsend who was imprisoned in the estate by her husband. She remained there until her death. No wonder she was a might miffed and now hangs about Raynham Hall, which is in Norfolk, scaring people.
There have been some famous sightings of her ghost. King George IV is said to have seen her while he was in bed. He looked up and there she was in a brown dress, pale faced and with her hair disheveled - which is no way to greet a king! This was way back during the nineteenth century.
In the early 1800's a Colonel Loftus was at the hall for the Christmas festivities. He saw the ghost in the hall, again wearing a brown dress. She then disappeared. The Colonel, obviously a glutton for punishment, saw her a second time and noticed that her eyes had been gouged out. I guess that is the sort of thing you would notice.
Sightings of the ghost continued. There was one by Captain Frederick Marryat who saw her gliding along the upstairs hallway. The story is that he fired a gun at her - no idea why - the bullet went right through her, which surely was to be expected, and lodged in a wall.
As for the photo itself. This was snapped in 1936 by two photographers for the very respectable Country Life magazine. The gentlemen were the exotically named Captain Povland and Indre Shira.
Indre Shira explained, at the time, as to how they came to take the photo:
"Captain Provand took one photograph while I flashed the light. He was focusing for another exposure; I was standing by his side just behind the camera with the flashlight pistol in my hand, looking directly up the staircase. All at once I detected an ethereal veiled form coming slowly down the stairs. Rather excitedly, I called out sharply: 'Quick, quick, there's something.' I pressed the trigger of the flashlight pistol. After the flash and on closing the shutter, Captain Provand removed the focusing cloth from his head and turning to me said: 'What's all the excitement about?'"
The subsequent photo was published in Country Life on December 16, 1936.

I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING EMAIL FROM A READER IN AUSTRALIA"
Hi,
I thought I might relate a few experiences I have had over the years.
In 1989 I spent 9 months living at Mum's place to get back on my feet after a nasty split with my fianc'ee. I was in my room lying on my bed listening to the stereo when I turned my head to the right to find this ghostly face right beside my face!
It stood up and floated backward out the door into the hallway and disappeared!
I jumped off the bed and run into the kitchen where mum was preparing dinner. Are you allright? she asked. I have just seen something I said. She said I had a strange look on my face. It scared the hell out of me.
We were all sitting out in the back yard a week later when it was brought up again. My youngest brother who was 14 at the time was listening to us.
He got all excited and told us his story.
He was brushing his teeth one morning at the bathroom sink when he looked to his left into the hallway and seen an apparition. He described what he saw and it was exactly what I saw !
It was only ever seen once by my brother and myself. Looking back now it resembled my Grandmother who died in 1985. She was smiling at us just before she disappeared.
In 1992 my father died from cancer. He lived on his own as he and mum divorced when I was 9.
We went to visit him on his birthday to find him dead. He had been dead for about a week the Coroner found. I was heartbroken. I went to bed that night and woke about 2 am to find him standing at the foot of my bed! I was living alone at the time. He was standing looking very solemn at me. It scared me a lot.
A friend of mine says I may be a bit sensitive seeing these things. I don't tell others about it because they look at me strange. I know what I have seen and believe in these things.
My Lady friend I am currently seeing has seen things at my home too. We have gone to bed for her to be awaken by something rubbing her arms and legs. I have been snoring beside her. This has happened a few times. She awoke one night to see a figure standing in the doorway. She described it to me and I showed her a photo of my dad. It was him! She has heard footsteps walking by the bathroom at night when she has been in there. I have been in bed asleep. Her jewellery goes missing quite often only to turn up a few days later. We hear noises from rapping on walls to someone knocking at the front door.
We are used to it now. It does not scare us. We keep quiet about it though because others look at you strange. As I said beore I believe in these things.
I wish to remain anonymous if you print this.
Thank you.
